IN 1972, APOLLO 17 LANDED ON THE MOON AND THE GODFATHER HIT THEATERS.
In music, Don McLean's ‘American Pie’ and Harry Nilsson's ‘Without You’ were topping the charts.
However, Long Island was where the action was really at. Lou Bolognese & Tommy Mottola, who was the mentor and talent manager of artists Hall & Oates, Carly Simon, John Mellencamp, Diana Ross, Taylor Dayne, Mariah Carey (his second wife), Jennifer Lopez and later became the Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment, sought to create a first class recording studio on Long Island. Sparing no expense, they hired the distinguished John Storyk, the Acoustical Architect who was hot off his completion of Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Together the two built a studio that has housed such acts and Twisted Sister, Taylor Dane, Fine Young Cannibals and even served as a residence for Ric Wake, who is recognized as one of the top music producers in the world and is an Academy Award winner and a two time Grammy Award winner.
During the mid 1990's, Steve Young, producer, engineer, composer and musician, took over the studio and made it the successful Long Island touchstone that it is today.
